Soft Tissue Therapy in Bend, Oregon

Point Chiropractic · Bend, Oregon

Soft Tissue Therapy

Soft tissue therapy is hands-on work applied to muscles, tendons, and fascia to reduce tension, improve circulation, and restore comfortable movement. At Point Chiropractic it is often combined with adjustments, because releasing tight tissue frequently helps a joint move — and hold its motion — better.

Joints and muscles work together. When a joint has been restricted for a while, the surrounding tissue usually adapts by tightening or guarding. Addressing only one side of that relationship tends to give shorter-lived results, which is why our licensed massage therapists work alongside our chiropractors in the same Bend office.

Our therapists bring a range of training, including deep tissue, Swedish, prenatal, cupping, trigger point therapy, craniosacral therapy, breathwork, and hot and cold stone work. Sessions are tailored, not scripted.

Know What To Expect

What your care may involve

  1. Intake

Your therapist reviews your history, goals, sensitivity, and any areas to avoid.

  2. Assessment

Tissue quality, tenderness, and movement are checked so the session targets what is actually restricted.

  3. Treatment

Techniques may include deep tissue, trigger point release, cupping, craniosacral work, or slower relaxation-focused massage.

  4. Integration

When appropriate, soft tissue work is scheduled around your adjustments so the two support each other.

  5. Aftercare

Expect hydration guidance, simple mobility work, and realistic expectations about short-term soreness.

Our Approach To Healing

The Point Chiropractic approach

Our therapists see bodywork as an invitation to slow down, become curious about what you are experiencing, and develop a deeper connection with your body — not just a set of techniques applied to a sore spot.

We communicate throughout the session. Pressure should be productive, never something you have to brace against.

FAQ’s

Have A Question?

Is soft tissue therapy the same as a spa massage?

There is overlap, but the goal here is therapeutic. Sessions are shaped by your exam findings and care plan, and they can be relaxing at the same time.

Should I get massage before or after my adjustment?

Either can work. Many patients find soft tissue work first helps the adjustment feel easier, and our team will sequence it based on your exam.

Will it be painful?

Deeper work can feel intense but should stay tolerable. Tell your therapist and they will adjust pressure immediately.

Is massage covered by insurance?

Coverage varies widely by plan. Our billing specialist can help you understand your benefits before you book.
